Powerchair is another name for a motorized or electric wheelchair. Power wheelchairs are mobility devices, designed to take the place of a manual wheelchair. Powerchairs allow the user to move about in all directions simply by pushing a lever, as opposed to having to manually turn the wheels of the wheelchair (or having someone else push the chair).
