Tether® Professional Grade Thumb Stabilizer

The Tether® Thermal Leather Thumb Stabilizer from FLA Orthopedics provides professional grade support to injured thumbs without limiting use of the hand. This high-quality thumb splint helps to provide support while limiting the motion of the MP joint of the thumb.

This Thumb Stabilizer is indicated for the following thumb injuries and conditions:

• Soft Tissue Injuries
• Ligament Strain
• Gamekeeper's Thumb (see definition below)
  
• Osteoarthritis
• Degenerative Joint Disease

The brace works to help relieve thumb pain associated with the above conditions through the limitation of motion. A Thermal Lining helps to provide soothing warmth to the thumb area and joint. The wrist wrap is made of a soft, cool, breathable material. The brace is adjustable, so that it fully accommodates changes in the degree of swelling. In allowing for full finger dexterity, this thumb stabilizer will not limit or inhibit athletic performance or daily activities.

Made of genuine leather that conforms to the thumb and lined with a thermal lining to warm the joint during the healing process. Cool, breathable wrist wrap for additional comfort. Wearing Instructions:  To make application easier, the Tether® Thumb Stabilizer is packaged pre-assembled.
Simply loosen the wrist strap, slip onto injured thumb, adjust, tighten and secure.

Care Instructions: Fasten all closures. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap. Air dry away from heat.
Do not machine dry.

Definitions

Gamekeeper's Thumb:  Involves the hyperextension of the thumb at the MCP joint. This is a very common sports injury characterized by displaced and nondisplaced tears of the attached ligament, usually the result of trying to break a backwards fall or jamming/stubbing the thumb.
