Soft Form® Maternity Support Belt


Product Description

The Soft Form® Maternity Support Belt by FLA Orthopedics helps to alleviate lower back pain due to pregnancy by providing comfortable yet firm support to the abdominal and lumbar regions. This unique maternity support adjusts fully so as to accommodate growth of the abdominal region throughout the course of the pregnancy.

The maternity belt transfers the weight of the extended abdomen from the front of the spine to the back of the spine and over the pelvis. Thus, the lordosis is held in its natural curve to help prevent strain. During pregnancy, the abdominal muscles and ligaments are naturally stretched and weakened. By assuming the load and providing abdominal lift, the belt helps to relieve the pain and stress associated with this natural process.

The support is made of a multi-layered laminate with a soft cotton/nylon lining. Elastic side-panels offer compression, while the unique design allows for ventilation, which helps keep the expectant mother cool and comfortable. Built-in stays are designed to hold the support in place, preventing the belt from rolling or sliding. This maternity belt can be worn comfortably and discreetly underneath most clothing. The support is 100% latex free.


Indications

The Soft Form Maternity Belt helps to relieve the minor lumbar and abdominal pain and
discomfort associated with pregnancy.

This support may also be used to:
  • Help Relieve Pain Associated with Muscle Strains in the Abdominal or Lumbar Regions.
  • Help Relieve Lower Back Pain and Discomfort.
  • Help provide Abdominal Support much in the same manner as an Abdominal Binder.

Application Instructions
  1. Wrap the Abdominal Lift Attachment around the waist. Position the pad such that it is centered below the abdomen. Wrap the elastic strap around the torso and attach it to the pad. Adjust both sides of the strap to achieve custom fit. Check to ensure that the abdominal pad is positioned properly, and will not inhibit walking or sitting. Continue adjusting accordingly as abdominal region expands throughout pregnancy.
  2. Attach belt to the pad. Pull both elastic sides until the desired tension is achieved, then attach the closure to the abdominal pad. Double-check to make sure the "hook" ends of the belt are completely latched.
  3. Stretch top strap over the stomach and attach to opposite side of the support.
  4. Belt can be unfastened and re-tightened while laying down with knees raised into the air in order to achieve an added degree of support.
